What is the most challenging part of solo travel?

When I was 19 years old, I tried traveling solo. My feelings at the time were mixed—I felt both scared and excited. However, it turned out to be a lot of fun because I had the chance to experience solo travel at a young age. The most challenging part of the trip was going through immigration. I was quite nervous and worried that they wouldn’t let me into the country. I had a particularly scary experience with immigration when I was in elementary school. At that time, I traveled with my grandfather, aunt, and older brother. I don’t remember the exact reason for the issues we faced, but it certainly made a lasting impression on me. What is the most challenging part of solo travel?

For me, the most challenging part of solo travel is often dealing with moments of loneliness. While exploring new places can be exciting, there are times when you miss sharing experiences with someone else. Navigating unfamiliar environments, handling all decisions alone, and managing safety can also feel overwhelming at times. However, it can also be incredibly rewarding, helping build self-confidence, independence, and creating unforgettable personal experiences.

Most challenging part? I’d have to say getting on the plane, and getting on the right transfer to the hotel. Especially big and large airports abroad you’ve never been to before

In my opinion, the most difficult part of traveling alone is definitely your own safety, both to protect yourself from harmful people, from bad situations and to protect your belongings from getting lost, also to avoid any accidents, etc. So for me that is the most difficult part, because then what is your own finances or the responsibilities that include traveling seem like a piece of cake to me.
