What is the future of eCommerce industry?

I must say that eCommerce industry has been thriving a lot. Recently, that pathetic trump imposed tariffs and many eCommerce businesses suffered as a result of that. The fact remains that these stupid tariffs increased the cost as useless taxes were imposed on products. This could even lead to even more inflation and many products could be totally out of the reach of many people. Many eCommerce owners could not afford expensive products as high tax rates make it very hard to run stores. As a result of that, sales decline as well. So, if current situation or condition persists, then eCommerce industry could be in big trouble. What do you think?

As for evolution, I don't know, but as for the future, believe me, it has a future, and a lot of it, quite a lot of future, although it will surely evolve into something better and simpler, taking into account technological advances. Some said that the next level of the e-commerce store is through virtual reality. This makes a lot of sense, and I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

I believe Trump has backed down from his tariff plans but his tariff plans only affected the US and those countries that were doing business with the US, US tariff had no effect elsewhere. For instance people running businesses, including ecommerce, were not affected in my country.
Back to the original question, ecommerce will continue to grow because people would have no time to visit stores physically.
