What Are Your Thoughts on Dot net Domain

Even though most people consider dot com over all domain extensions dot net is also one of the 6 original domains just like dot com. Dot net can be a great option for tech based businesses or for anyone who want to establish online presence. Since dot com is most used, it is very difficult to find appropriate domain, therefore, dot net can be better suited. What do you think?

Since they say domain extensions have nothing to do with SEO, I think ot would be OK to use any domain extensions. However, I believe some domain names look better with certain domain extensions and I would prefer dot net after dot com.

True, some domain extensions look better for certain niches. For instance, if a TV channel is creating its own official website, using dot tv extension will make the domain look better. However, for the purpose of branding dot com always look better. Since it is widely used domain, it is difficult to get a domain of your choice so you can go with the nearest best option which is dot net as it was also released along with dot com.

Dot net belongs to one of the 6 domains released by Internet Authority (I cannot remember the exact name). It is as valuable as dot com but it is not being used too frequently like dot com. A lot of people thought dot net was mainly for network or Internet or tech related stuff, they just started using dot com more.

Personally, I like .com domains much more, but .net isn't bad as such. In fact, it might even be better for you because it can make your site stand out when users search for it simply because it's .net.
