A general concept of social media marketing is promoting products or services on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc. Social media marketing is not just about sharing your products and services on social media, it is more than that. One of the main reasons why people fail to get traction on social media is they think sharing on social media is social media marketing. Sharing is just a first step of social media marketing. Social media marketing also means monitoring competitors, learning from their mistakes, adopting their effective strategies. Social media marketing means building followers creating and sharing content and building a community.

If you want your social media marketing efforts to become effective, start by defining your goals: are you looking to generate leads or engage audiences? It is indispensable to get to know your target audience, which includes their preferences and problems, before choosing the right social media platform for your material. If you prefer making long-form videos, YouTube is an excellent option. TikTok and Instagram are good options for visual material. Create a content strategy and use a scheduling tool like Buffer or Hootsuite to manage your postings. Make sure you employ analytics tools to monitor your performance and discover areas for improvement.

Using tools like Hootsuite certainly helps you with social media marketing. Utilizing post schedule feature on the social media sites that you are using will also ease your work. Most importantly, you need to promote high quality content.

You need to share quality content, insights, make sure you build great engagement. What most do (self included) is to just post some links to our blog articles and call it a day. I'm guilty as charged myself, but never got the time to do it right.

For many website owners, grabbing links from their website and then dumping it on social media sites is all about social media marketing. Social media users are not interested in the third party content. They will interact better if the content is published within the platform. You need to first encourage them to engage witrh your original content on the platform and they surely lure them to checking your website.

Audience
Your audience is very much important, know what content to feed them with per time is the awesome part and posting it at the appropriate interval for sequential engage. Most time we then break it down to Age range, because the need of human at various stages of life can not satisfied.

A lot of us are actually guilty of this. We just share links on social media platforms and thought we have done everything required for social media marketing 🤣

I don't do social media marketing professionally, but I post content and try to reach a large audience. From my experience, it's important to consider factors like consistency, quality of content, timing, and understanding the platform's algorithm. Engaging with followers and tracking analytics also seem key to success.

When doing social media marketing, think about who your audience is, set clear goals, and decide what kind of content to post. Also, interact with your followers, check how well you're doing, and post regularly.

One thing that I always consider when doing social media marketing is how to track the results of the social media marketing efforts. Any social media marketing program that doesn't have clearly defined result tracking parameters is not supported by me.

I think most social media platforms have analytic dashboards where you can easily see your performance such as reach, engagements, clicks on links, etc.
