Are Free Samples Worth It in Health eCommerce?

I’m thinking about offering small samples of my supplement line for free. Is it worth the cost?
Have samples helped your sales? What kind of ROI did you see?

I do not think free sample works as the way it used to in the past. These days people try to grab every thing that they get for free but since it is free they do not value it, thus, they do not usually buy it. However, this is just my opinion, and I do not have concrete proof to support my case.
