I don't think so. It's just a helper for simple questions so that a person doesn't have to be behind a screen 24/7 having to answer somewhat silly questions that have already been clarified in the FAQs that almost no one usually reads.
It's the same thing I think, I don't believe at all that a chatbot can ruin the customer experience on a website, I definitely rule out that possibilityI don't think that a chatbot will kill a website. In fact, it makes a person feel like there is someone there who is ready to help you. However, nowadays people do realize the fact that a chatbot is not a real person. So, if you overuse chatbot on your website, then it will give an impression that no one actually cares about visitors or customers and the owner of the website has left every thing to chatbot.
