AI generated image or stock images

When it comes to create marketing materials, or even to use with your social media content do you use stock images or do you use AI generated images? What are your reasons for using AI images, or stock images?

Great question, Dominique ... I think it depends for me. Most of the times for blog posts I still stay away from AI generated, but there are times when they look better for what I need. For a tennis website of mine, I did use more AI images than usual for me.

As long as I can find the appropriate stock image, I will always use stock image. If I do not find the image I am looking for, I will use AI generated images. My preference is always stock image.

I believe AI generated images get a bad rap most of the time. Social media giant Facebook and Search engine giant Google say they will flag AI generated images.

Google and Meta are just trying to label AI generated content as AI generated content, they are not flagging them for being illegal or something. Just like with text, internet companies are coming up with new rules for AI generated images

I think that if you want to position your content it is better to use images that do not contain AI, search engines and other platforms punish photos and content with AI.

There are some cases where it is not a problem to use AI generated images, like some particular YouTube niches. However, I'd much rather make use of stock images when they are available.
