Overproduced, polished ads can sometimes seem fake or overly promotional, while raw, low-budget designs often feel more authentic and relatable. Some marketers are intentionally making ads look less polished to boost conversions.

Have you tested "ugly" ads? Did they perform better than traditional polished creatives?

I have not tested myself so I cannot say anything from my personal side. However, I believe these ads convert better. My thought is based on the fact that micro influencers give you better conversion than mega influencers. social proof from generate people have better conversion than celebrity endoresement

I’ve seen that sometimes imperfect, "ugly" ads can actually perform better. Their raw, unpolished feel can feel more authentic and relatable, standing out from the over-polished competition. For example, quirky, homemade-looking ads often resonate more on platforms like Instagram or TikTok.

I honestly don't think so. Perhaps a more realistic design could be a good option, but an ugly design? I think all ugly designs scare off future customers. I don't think they'll be attracted to it at all.

It is highly unlikely that you might generate sales through such kinds of advertisement. This is due to the fact that "ugly" ads are unprofessional. This is also one if the main reasons why many buyers might not take such kinds of advertisement seriously or they may rarely take such kind of ads seriously. Professionalism matters a lot.

Exactly, nobody likes to see an ugly ad, quite the opposite, if they see something ugly they even avoid it and avoid it a lot, because that's what we would all do, so definitely ugly ads are not a good option.
