Do You Allow Multiple Accounts?

I have been a couple of times hired by forum owners to create multiple accounts and post on the forums. They even asked me to interact between the accounts. However, as a forum owner, I do not allow multiple accounts. With multiple accounts you can sure have more users but these are fake users. Do you allow multiple accounts?

I don't have a forum but I think the best thing is always to not allow more than one account, maybe 2 accounts at most, but if you allow multiple accounts it will be filled with spam and you won't have real users, just a single user generating spam, so your income will drop drastically as well as your CPM and your positioning.

What makes you think that 2 accounts are ok. What could be a plausible reason for a user to create more than one account? Don't you think the discussion would look fake when the same person interacts to the same topics from more than one account?

There are forums where they detect multi-accounts for accounts created under the same IP, so they limit them to one account per IP. This means that allowing a maximum of two accounts would count as a multi-account, even though technically it isn't. Why another account under the same IP? A simple person, a friend, a brother, a cousin, a relative, etc.

Yes, it happens all the time. Someone might create a second account and use it to attack others. It's not a good practice because it can kill the credibility of the forum.

So just one account per user and that's it, it all depends on the person and the strategy. For my part, I would allow a maximum of 2 accounts per IP, but in your case it will clearly be 1 per IP, as I said, it depends on each person.
