What is the difference between copy writing and content writing?

Copy is something that is specifically written to generate sales, content (I am talking about text based content) on the other hand is anything that is published online, it can be short post, long article, ebook, sales pitch, even ad copies. The primary aim of content writing is to provide information and insights and attract meaningful discussion.

Copywriting concentrates on persuading potential customers to take some actions, such as signing up for newsletters or availing of a product or service. It uses persuasive language and powerful calls to action to get attention. Examples of copywriting include print and online advertisements, social media ads, and promotional emails. Having a great understanding of sales techniques can greatly boost the efficiency of a copy.

Meanwhile, content writing is about teaching and engaging the audience by giving relevant information, insights, and so on. It often takes the form of articles, blog posts, how-to guides, and so on. Content writers will establish trust and connection with their target audience, which attracts them to come back for more info. In addition, a good understanding of SEO is indispensable for content writers because it improves the exposure of their work on search engines, which results in better traffic.

Copywriting and content writing, especially SEO content writing, both are very important for marketers, especially those who are involved with content marketing or advertising. These two require different kinds of writing skills. BY the way, what do you feel more comfortable to write, copies or content?

SEO content writing is a must to master, if you ever want to get search engine traffic. I have done a lot of work in this area and it's night and day compared to "normal" copywriting. Today, a good content writer should also be an SEO expert, in order to provide customers with the best service.
