Use of promotional posters in the city, good marketing strategy?

Hanging posters around town promoting your services and your business is a strategy that many small businesses still use today, but is this still effective? or is it a waste of time and resources? I think that in small towns this is quite effective.

Yes, it is effective. Recently, we did a poster campaign for our school and we managed to get a lot of new students for our January intake. The most important thing is your posters should appear in the right place

I do not think posters are still effective marketing strategy. I am saying this based on the fact that a lot of cities do not allow you to paste posters on public places, those that allow only designate certain areas and have high charges.

For posters to be really effective as a business promotion tool, one really has to make it prolific. What I imply is that or must saturate the city. When it does so, it it bound to turn heads and give the business the publicity desired.
