Moderating New Users Posts

Currently, I do not keep the new users posts on moderation, however, in the past, I used to keep new users post under moderation, and the posts would be auto approved only when I have manually 25 posts. This was to stop forum spam, and it actually worked. Do you keep new users posts under moderation.

I don’t have any experience but I understand why you used to. The 25-post rule was a solid way to prevent spam, and it must’ve been effective. It's always a balancing act between controlling spam and user experience.

If you're getting a lot of spammers, it's necessary to moderate new members posts unless you know the person well from different other forums. Although, this might discourage some people from using the forum.

Moderating new users' posts is a smart way to prevent spam, trolling, and low-quality content. It helps maintain community standards while allowing genuine members to prove themselves. Many forums lift moderation after a certain number of approved posts.

I would recommend that if you activate moderation for new users, it should only be up to 10 posts. More than that is excessive and annoying and will cause users to leave the forum. You have to have a balance between what is moderated and what is not moderated.
