Moderating New Users Posts

Currently, I do not keep the new users posts on moderation, however, in the past, I used to keep new users post under moderation, and the posts would be auto approved only when I have manually 25 posts. This was to stop forum spam, and it actually worked. Do you keep new users posts under moderation.

I don’t have any experience but I understand why you used to. The 25-post rule was a solid way to prevent spam, and it must’ve been effective. It's always a balancing act between controlling spam and user experience.

If you're getting a lot of spammers, it's necessary to moderate new members posts unless you know the person well from different other forums. Although, this might discourage some people from using the forum.
