If you want to become successful with your blog, you need to track your blog performance. Tracking performance is very important for your blog growth. You can Google Analytics to track traffic. GA will help you know your visitors, your most popular content, your traffic sources, your traffic location, etc. When you understand these metrics, you can plan your content calendar and also build a marketing and SEO strategy. You also need to regularly check your publisher dashboard to check revenue to find out what kind of ad engagement you have, what kind of ads are being clicked, what pages get more ad clicks etc.

I find Google Analytics very confusing. I need to use this more so I can finetune my website better. But honestly it’s overwhelming when I visit it. I do think GA gives the best insights. Pair GA with pagespeed to find out about your performance and you can optimize your website really well.

Understanding Google Analytics data and then using the data to improve your website performance is very important, mostly for traffic and sales. However, Google Analytics is not the only tool to track your website performance there are many, some paid and some free. Other than GA, I find Semrush Traffic Analytics and Adobe Analytics very useful.

Are traffic and revenue the only things that determine the performance of your website? What about new members or new user generated content on your website? Do they count?

You can track your website's performance by using tools like Google Analytics. This allows you to monitor traffic, see which pages are most popular, and understand how visitors interact with your site. Regularly checking these metrics helps you identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of your online efforts.

That's very true. Google Analytics is a wonderful tool to track your website performance. You can check all metrics related to your website, for instance, traffic, traffic source, traffic location, devices used, time spent, etc.
