What are your thoughts on forum monetization, do you like to monetize your forums and show ads, or are you against showing ads on your forums? Well, I am for running ads. This will not only allow to cover forum expenses but even earn profits against the time and effort I put on the forum

I do not like to see ads on any kind if websites I visit but I also understand the need for ads. If you want to run ads the only thing you need to take care of is try to limit ads.

That's true. I have used as many as 7 ad units per page on my websites but then I realized that having more ads per page does not mean more money. In fact if you are more ads, ad engagement will also be less compared to when you have a fewer ads.

I'm not against monetizing of a community but it should be done in a way that forum users are not going to be made to find it difficult to use the community because of how ads are used in an intrusive way.

You can of course monetize a forum, however, it’s important to balance monetization with maintaining a positive user experience, as over-commercialization can drive members away.

Yeah, over commercialization will drive away members, too many ads does not mean a lot of income. It is all about having high quality ads so that there are engagements and revenue.
