Do ad companies perform better than affiliate networks for forums?

When it comes to managing and running a forum, do you prefer to monetize with advertising networks or affiliate networks?

Ad networks are usually easier to set up, but affiliate programs can sometimes deliver better profits if you know your audience well.

What’s your go-to monetization method? Do you use a mix of ad networks and affiliate programs, or do you stick with ad networks only?

Based on my experience I can say network ads like Adsense work better than affiliate ads like Amazon. To earn from Amazon, your users need to purchase the product. To earn from Adsense, you just need ad impressions and clicks, which is easier than people buying products.

Ad companies often provide more stable revenue through direct ads, but affiliate networks can outperform in forums if the audience is highly targeted and the products/services are relevant. It depends on your forum’s niche and the quality of the partnerships.
