Are print ads still effective?

The statistics from the world over show that the audience for print media (newspaper and magazine) is constantly on decline. A lot of print media have shut down print version and switched to digital platform, even the readership for digital media is on decline. In a situation like this do you think, you can build a brand and generate sales through print ads?
 
In my neck of the woods people are still reading a few prints (I personally ignore them, but I'm me). So maybe for a small community, they are still OK. I thought about promoting my business in print, but, honestly, I don't really think it's such a good option for me. With the money I'd pay for 2-3 ads, I'd probably land a few decent backlinks and promote better.
 
I am not sure if print ads will bring sales but print ads can certainly help you build a brand. That's why big companies continue to advertise on print media
 
Agreed. With print ads, you build a brand. Even though print publications are losing readers where as digital media is constantly gaining audience, print ads are more trusted as what appears in black and white (print) is considered more reliable.
 
I think they are effective. Not many people will remember the ads they see on digital platforms but they will certainly notice print ads.
 
You have a point. I spend 7-8 hours online every day, I see a lot of ads but I don't remember the ads I see on the websites I visit. However, when I check newspaper and when I see the ad on the front page, I will not only remember throughout the day but even for weeks, or months.
 
I believe that print advertising is still effective, but not as much as it used to be. Most of the audience for magazines and newspapers consists of older individuals, so if your target market is mainly older people, using print ads to promote your product or service may be a good idea. However, it's essential to keep in mind that print ads are more expensive than digital ads, so make sure to weigh your options carefully.
